The summit highlighted Telangana’s ambitious energy roadmap, including plans to expand solar capacity to nearly 20,000 MW by 2030 and more than 26,000 MW by 2035, while simultaneously developing nearly 8,000 MW of energy storage capacity by 2035 through battery energy storage and pumped storage systems.
Day 1: Powering Telangana’s Growth Through a New Energy Architecture

The summit opened with a Welcome Address by Dr Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, Elets Technomedia, who highlighted the critical role of energy in supporting Hyderabad’s growth across technology, pharmaceuticals, innovation and industry. He stressed that rising demand and global energy volatility have made renewable energy essential to India’s economic and industrial future.
The Program Chair Address by Navin Mittal, Special Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Telangana, examined the next phase of India’s renewable energy transition. He highlighted the sharp decline in solar tariffs, the growth of solar capacity and the emergence of round-the-clock renewable power, while pointing to storage and electric mobility as critical components of the evolving energy ecosystem.
Sandip Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer – India, Enfinity Global, highlighted the scale of Telangana’s future electricity requirements as the state pursues its long-term economic ambitions. He noted that growing demand from AI, data centres, manufacturing and advanced industries makes energy infrastructure and policy critical enablers of economic growth.
Speaking on the convergence of energy and artificial intelligence, Phani Nagarjuna, Founding Global CEO, Aikam (Telangana AI Innovation Hub), Government of Telangana, underlined the physical energy requirements behind every AI model and digital system. He called for greater focus on energy efficiency, intelligent power management and the orchestration of energy, compute and infrastructure.
The international perspective was brought by HE Harisoa Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner, High Commission of Seychelles, New Delhi, who connected energy security with economic development, resilience and human progress. She emphasised partnerships between governments, industry, startups and nations to accelerate the global energy transformation.
The Chief Guest Address by Shri Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Finance, Planning & Energy, Government of Telangana, outlined Telangana’s ambition to build an integrated energy ecosystem spanning renewable power, storage, transmission, electric mobility, green hydrogen, manufacturing and digital technology. He highlighted the state’s roadmap for nearly 20,000 MW of solar capacity by 2030 and more than 26,000 MW by 2035, alongside storage capacity of approximately 3,800 MW by 2030 and nearly 8,000 MW by 2035 through battery energy storage and pumped storage systems.
A key feature of Day 1 was the discussion on “Modernising Transmission & Distribution: Smart Grids for a Reliable Power Future,” which brought together utility leaders and industry experts to examine grid resilience, digitalisation and the future of electricity distribution.
This was followed by discussions on India’s Energy Vision 2047, focusing on the role of states as key drivers of the country’s energy transition, along with deliberations on renewables, green power, critical minerals and energy infrastructure.
The first day also featured discussions around the Green Hydrogen Mission, technical presentations and a fireside conversation between Navin Mittal and Phani Nagarjuna, examining the intersection of energy, innovation and emerging technologies. The day concluded with a closing ceremony and networking dinner, providing delegates an opportunity to continue conversations and build industry connections.
Day 2: Clean Energy, Storage, Mobility and Financing the Transition
Day 2 opened with a Keynote Address by R. D. Nazeem, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, who highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s clean-energy model, with hydropower and solar forming the backbone of its domestic power generation. He also outlined the state’s green highway corridors and expansion of EV charging infrastructure.
The second keynote was delivered by Bhupinder S. Bhalla, Chair, Governance Board, GH2 India and Former Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, who connected energy availability with the broader Viksit Bharat vision. He highlighted India’s rapid renewable-energy expansion, including the country crossing 300 GW of renewable energy capacity and adding nearly 100 GW in around 26–27 months.
The day’s discussions covered renewable energy and reliable electricity for rural India, energy security and thermal transition, hydrogen and grid-scale storage, sustainable mobility, EVs, city gas and clean fuels, as well as the financing requirements of India’s energy transition. A dedicated session on “Powering India’s AI Future: Advancing Battery Energy Storage Systems for a Clean AI Economy” examined how energy-storage systems must evolve to support the rapidly increasing electricity requirements associated with artificial intelligence, data centres and digital infrastructure.
The summit also featured “Powering Growth: Financing Energy Transition & Industrial Development,” focusing on the capital, investment and financial mechanisms required to accelerate clean-energy deployment while supporting industrial development and economic growth.
India Energy Expo and Awards Spotlight Innovation and Leadership in the Energy Sector
The exclusive ‘India Energy Expo’ formed an integral part of the summit, providing participating organisations with a platform to showcase technologies, products and solutions across renewable energy, storage, grid infrastructure, electric mobility, digitalisation and clean fuels. The expo enabled government representatives, utilities, investors, industry leaders and delegates to engage directly with technology providers and explore solutions for India’s rapidly evolving energy requirements.
The summit also featured an Energy Awards Ceremony, recognising organisations and leaders contributing to India’s energy transformation through innovation, sustainability, technology adoption, infrastructure development and sectoral leadership. The awards celebrated the achievements of stakeholders working across the energy value chain and reinforced the importance of collaboration in translating India’s energy ambitions into measurable outcomes.
