Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹691.74 crore in Ghazipur, giving a major boost to infrastructure and public welfare in the district. During the event, he inaugurated 83 completed projects and laid the foundation for 185 new projects, taking the total number of projects to 268.
The Chief Minister also distributed approval letters and certificates to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes, reiterating the state’s commitment to inclusive development and improved public services.
Major Push for Infrastructure Development
The projects unveiled by the Chief Minister are aimed at improving essential infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents across Ghazipur.

The initiatives cover a wide range of sectors, including road connectivity, drinking water supply, education, healthcare, rural development, urban infrastructure and other public amenities.
According to the state government, the projects are expected to strengthen basic infrastructure while supporting economic growth and improving access to essential services.
Projects Cover All Seven Assembly Constituencies
The development works announced during the programme will benefit all seven Assembly constituencies of Ghazipur district—Ghazipur Sadar, Jakhania, Muhammadabad, Saidpur, Zamania, Zahoorabad and Jangipur.
By extending development across both rural and urban areas, the government aims to ensure balanced growth and better public infrastructure throughout the district.
The programme, held at the Muhammadabad Mandi Ground, was attended by public representatives, senior officials and a large number of local residents.
Welfare Benefits Distributed to Citizens
Alongside the inauguration of development projects, CM Yogi handed over approval letters and certificates to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes.
He said the state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of welfare programmes reach eligible citizens in every district, helping improve livelihoods and social security.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support received under different government initiatives.
Focus on Development and Good Governance
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the Uttar Pradesh government’s emphasis on infrastructure development, public welfare and efficient governance.
He said the government is working to expand basic services, strengthen connectivity and create new opportunities for economic and social development across the state.
According to him, sustained investment in infrastructure is essential for improving the quality of life and accelerating overall development.
Ghazipur’s Contribution to the Nation
Speaking about the district’s heritage, CM Yogi described Ghazipur as a land with a rich cultural and historical legacy.
He highlighted the contribution of Gahmar village, known for producing a large number of soldiers and military personnel, and acknowledged the district’s role in India’s freedom movement and nation-building.
The Chief Minister said Ghazipur continues to play an important role in the state’s development journey.
Remarks on Historical Legacy
During his address, CM Yogi also spoke about recognising India’s historical figures and preserving their legacy.
He referred to Maharaja Suheldev as an important national hero and said greater attention should be given to honouring personalities who contributed to the country’s history and cultural heritage.
The Chief Minister also criticised previous governments over their approach to historical recognition and governance.
Boost to Ghazipur’s Growth
The launch of projects worth nearly ₹692 crore marks one of the largest recent development initiatives for Ghazipur.
With investments spanning infrastructure, public services and welfare, the projects are expected to improve connectivity, strengthen civic amenities and support long-term economic growth across the district.
