Andhra Pradesh Tourism

Andhra Pradesh is set to become India’s first AI-powered tourism state with the launch of an artificial intelligence-driven platform designed to transform the visitor experience across major tourist destinations. The initiative will be implemented through a strategic partnership between the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) and technology company Xplorer.

The move is part of the state’s broader vision to leverage emerging technologies for improving public services and promoting tourism.

APTDC Signs Three-Year Partnership for AI Tourism Initiative

In the presence of Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xplorer to deploy the NiVU AI platform across the state.

The agreement aims to integrate artificial intelligence into the tourism ecosystem, enabling visitors to access real-time information about attractions through a simple and interactive digital interface.

According to the minister, the initiative aligns with the state’s Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, which focuses on using technology to drive economic growth and improve citizen services.

AI Services to Reach Over 100 Tourist Destinations

The government plans to introduce the NiVU AI platform at more than 100 tourist destinations across Andhra Pradesh over the next three years.

Following the successful pilot at Mangalagiri, the first phase will cover 30 major tourist destinations during the initial year. The platform will then be expanded in phases to other popular heritage, cultural, and natural attractions across the state.

Officials believe the initiative will make travel more informative, accessible, and convenient for both domestic and international visitors.

Tourists Can Access Information with a QR Code

One of the key features of the platform is its ease of use.

Visitors will be able to scan a QR code at tourist sites to instantly access detailed information about monuments, temples, forts, beaches, caves, and other attractions. The AI assistant will respond through both voice and text without requiring users to download a mobile application.

The platform is capable of supporting conversations in more than 130 languages, allowing tourists to receive information in their preferred language.

Free Service Designed to Improve Visitor Experience

The AI-powered service will be available free of cost for tourists.

According to the Tourism Department, the platform is designed to provide accurate information, enhance visitor engagement, and make travel more interactive by offering multilingual assistance throughout the journey.

Tourists will be able to explore destinations more easily while learning about their historical, cultural, and architectural significance through AI-enabled conversations.

Successful Pilot at Mangalagiri

The government has already tested the platform at Mangalagiri, where it has received encouraging feedback from visitors.

Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh said he personally interacted with the AI platform in Telugu and found its responses to be accurate, natural, and user-friendly.

Technology to Drive Tourism Growth

The AI initiative reflects Andhra Pradesh’s broader strategy of integrating digital technologies into governance and public services. By combining artificial intelligence with tourism, the state aims to improve visitor satisfaction, promote cultural heritage, and strengthen its position as a technology-driven tourism destination.

The government expects the platform to enhance accessibility, support multilingual communication, and create a smarter tourism ecosystem while contributing to the state’s long-term vision for digital transformation.
