Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on World Environment Day launched a series of development initiatives worth ₹294 crore in Balrampur district, underlining the state government’s focus on infrastructure expansion, public welfare and environmental conservation.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 75 development projects across the district. The projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, improving public services and accelerating rural development in the region.
Development and Environment Go Hand in Hand
Addressing a public gathering, Yogi Adityanath stressed the importance of environmental protection, stating that water is the foundation of life and must be preserved for future generations. On the occasion of World Environment Day, he called for greater public participation in environmental conservation efforts.
The Chief Minister said Balrampur has witnessed significant progress over the past several years. Once considered among the state’s less-developed districts, it is now emerging as a region with growing infrastructure, improved services and expanding opportunities for residents.
Focus on Better Infrastructure and Public Services
The projects launched during the event cover multiple sectors, including roads, bridges, irrigation facilities and rural development. The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to improve connectivity, strengthen public infrastructure and ensure that welfare schemes reach beneficiaries efficiently.
He noted that initiatives related to free ration distribution, healthcare services, education and rural development have helped improve the quality of life for people across the state. According to him, the government’s development strategy focuses on ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society.
Law and Order Improvements Highlighted
Yogi Adityanath also spoke about improvements in the state’s law and order situation. He said Uttar Pradesh has moved towards a safer and more secure environment, enabling faster development and greater public confidence.
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s efforts have helped create conditions where citizens, including women, feel more secure while businesses and development projects can progress without disruption.
Plantation Drive Marks World Environment Day
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, the Chief Minister planted saplings of Peepal, Banyan and Pakad trees. He described tree plantation as an important step towards maintaining ecological balance and combating environmental challenges.
During the visit, he also inspected exhibition stalls set up by various government departments showcasing welfare schemes and development programmes. These included initiatives related to healthcare, rural livelihoods, women’s empowerment, agriculture, skill development, renewable energy, transport safety and social welfare.
Wildlife Conservation Efforts Receive Attention
Officials from the Forest Department briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing wildlife conservation initiatives in the region. The Sohelwa Wildlife Division has reported the presence of tigers and several vulture species, highlighting the area’s ecological significance.
According to officials, recent wildlife monitoring exercises have identified multiple tigers, including cubs, while conservation programmes have helped protect several vulture species found in India. They also highlighted large-scale plantation efforts undertaken since 2017 and the use of modern technologies such as thermal drones and advanced monitoring equipment for wildlife protection.

Balrampur’s Transformation Highlighted
A presentation during the event showcased the district’s development journey over the past few years. Officials pointed to improvements in road networks, healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure and rural connectivity.
The district has also seen progress in basic amenities and public services, contributing to broader socio-economic development. A short film presented at the event highlighted various infrastructure and welfare initiatives that have contributed to Balrampur’s transformation.

Political leaders and public representatives present at the event highlighted the state’s progress in infrastructure development, governance reforms and welfare delivery. They emphasized that continued investment in roads, public services and environmental conservation will play a key role in sustaining growth across Uttar Pradesh.
The ₹294 crore package of projects reflects the state’s efforts to combine economic development with environmental responsibility. Through investments in infrastructure, welfare programmes and conservation initiatives, the government aims to support long-term growth while improving the quality of life for citizens in Balrampur and beyond.
