Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka has announced key administrative changes involving senior IAS officers, appointing Dr. Manjula N., IAS (2002 batch) as the new Chairperson of the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR), Dr. Manjula N., who was serving as Secretary to the Government in the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Science and Technology, has been transferred and posted as Chairperson of BWSSB until further orders.
She succeeds Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar V., IAS (2010 batch), who has been transferred from the water utility body and appointed as the Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL).
The leadership reshuffle comes as Karnataka continues to focus on strengthening governance and operational efficiency across key public infrastructure and utility sectors. BWSSB plays a critical role in managing Bengaluru’s water supply and sewerage infrastructure, while KPTCL is responsible for the transmission of electricity across the state.
Dr. Manjula N. brings extensive administrative experience, having handled portfolios related to technology, innovation, biotechnology, and science-led governance initiatives within the state government. Her appointment is expected to support ongoing efforts to enhance urban water management and service delivery in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar V. takes charge of KPTCL at a time when the state is focusing on modernising power transmission infrastructure, improving grid reliability, and supporting Karnataka’s growing energy requirements.
The transfers take effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders from the state government.
