In a fresh administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred three IPS officers, bringing changes in key district-level police leadership as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order.
As per the latest reshuffle, Sanjiv Suman, who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Deoria, has been removed from his post and attached to the Police Headquarters. He will now serve at the office of the Director General of Police (DGP), marking a shift from field responsibilities to a headquarters role.
Taking his place, Abhijit R. Shankar has been appointed as the new SP of Deoria. He was previously serving as SP of Ambedkarnagar, and his transfer is seen as part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at ensuring effective policing in sensitive districts.
Meanwhile, Prachi Singh has been posted as the new Superintendent of Police of Ambedkarnagar. She was earlier serving as Commandant of the 32nd Battalion, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in Lucknow. Her new role marks a transition from a battalion command to district-level policing.
Officials indicated that these transfers are part of a broader administrative reshuffle in the state. Recently, the government had also assigned first postings to 12 IPS officers, pointing to continuous efforts to streamline policing and administration.

Such changes are aimed at placing experienced officers in key roles, ensuring better coordination, quicker decision-making, and improved law and order management at the district level.
With two officers taking charge of districts and one moving to headquarters, the reshuffle reflects a strategic redistribution of responsibilities to maintain efficiency and responsiveness in the police system across Uttar Pradesh.
