In a significant move to strengthen its global technology capabilities, The Standard has launched a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru’s Embassy Tech Village.

The facility was inaugurated by Priyank Kharge and marks the company’s continued expansion in India after establishing its local presence in November 2025.

The new centre will focus on advanced areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud platform development, data analytics, digital transformation, and insurance operations. By setting up this hub, The Standard aims to leverage India’s strong technology talent pool while enhancing its global innovation and service delivery capabilities.

Company leaders highlighted that the Bengaluru GCC will play a key role in driving digital transformation and improving operational efficiency. It will also support the company’s transition from vendor-led technology services to in-house engineering, enabling faster innovation and better control over critical processes.

Greg Chandler, Executive Vice President of Information Technology at The Standard, said the India operations are becoming central to the company’s long-term strategy. He noted that the new centre will help accelerate innovation, scale technology capabilities, and deliver new solutions to customers more efficiently.

Mohua Sengupta, Senior Vice President and Country Head of The Standard India, described the centre as a blend of enterprise strength and startup agility. She added that the hub will allow teams to build new capabilities while working closely with global counterparts.

Since entering India, the company has been steadily expanding its leadership across functions such as finance, human resources, technology, and communications. The new Bengaluru facility is expected to further strengthen this ecosystem and support long-term growth, innovation, and transformation.
