Kovalam, Kerala: The 2nd Edition of the Global Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit will be held on 13 March 2026 in Kovalam, Kerala, bringing together policymakers, energy leaders, technology innovators, utilities, and investors to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, hydrogen-powered energy future.
Hosted by the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) under the Power Department of the Government of Kerala, in collaboration with Elets Technomedia and Elets Net Zero magazine as the Knowledge Partner, the summit will serve as a high-impact government–industry platform focused on scaling renewable energy and advancing the hydrogen economy. The event is co-hosted by Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and Energy Management Centre Kerala.
The summit will serve as a platform for discussions between government agencies, industry representatives, researchers, and technology providers on renewable energy expansion and hydrogen development. Shri K. Krishnankutty, Hon’ble Minister for Electricity, Government of Kerala, will attend the summit as the Guest of Honour. The programme is chaired by Shri Puneet Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Government of Kerala, while Shri Minhaj Alam, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), serves as Program Co-Chair.
Senior government officials, industry representatives, technology experts, and financial institutions working in the clean energy sector will participate in the summit. Amitabh Kant, IAS, former G20 Sherpa of India and former CEO of NITI Aayog, and K.R. Jyothilal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Taxes Department, Government of Kerala, will address the gathering as key speakers.
Other speakers include S. Suhas, IAS, Managing Director, Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL); Harshil R. Meena, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, ANERT; and Sajeev G, Director (Generation, REES & SOURA), Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL). Experts from central and state governments, industry organisations, and international institutions will also participate in the discussions.
Key discussions during the summit will explore India’s Energy Roadmap 2030 and the pathways to global energy leadership, while highlighting advancements in green hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and industrial applications. Speakers will also examine renewable energy innovations such as offshore wind, floating solar, and hybrid systems, along with energy storage solutions including batteries and pumped hydro. In addition, experts will discuss climate-resilient energy infrastructure, AI-driven smart grid technologies, and public–private investment models to accelerate the scale-up of clean energy projects.
The event will host 50+ speakers, 40+ exhibitors and over 100 delegates, along with knowledge sessions, technology showcases, and networking opportunities designed to encourage cross-sector partnerships and collaboration. Against the backdrop of India’s ambitious clean energy targets and the growing momentum of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the event will explore pathways to accelerate hydrogen production, renewable energy integration, and sustainable infrastructure development.
As India continues its journey toward Net Zero by 2070, the 2nd Global Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit will play a crucial role in aligning policy, technology, and investment to unlock new opportunities in the clean energy ecosystem. By bringing together stakeholders from across the energy value chain, including ministries, utilities, renewable energy developers, hydrogen technology providers, oil and gas majors, investors, startups, and research institutions, the summit will catalyse advancing India’s leadership in the global clean energy transition.
