The Punjab government on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of 26 officers, including 20 IAS and six PCS officers, with immediate effect. The reshuffle covers district administration, key departments and urban bodies across the state.

At the district level, Varjeet Walia (IAS, 2018) has been appointed Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, replacing Preeti Yadav (IAS, 2014). Aaditya Dachalwal (IAS, 2016) has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Roopnagar, replacing Varjeet Walia. Gulpreet Singh Aulakh (IAS, 2015) has been appointed Deputy Commissioner, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, replacing Ankurjeet Singh (IAS, 2018). Harpreet Singh (IAS, 2019) has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Barnala, replacing T. Benith (IAS, 2018), and will also hold charge as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Barnala.

Among senior IAS postings, Ajit Balaji Joshi (IAS, 2003) has been appointed Secretary, Elections (Local Bodies Wing). He will continue as Administrative Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayats and Taxation, and will also hold additional charge of Cooperation. Vijay Namdeorao Zade (IAS, 2002) will continue as Secretary, Expenditure, with additional charge of NRI Affairs. Abhinav Trikha (IAS, 2006) has been transferred as Secretary, Finance. Kanwal Preet Brar (IAS, 2007) has been appointed Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, with effect from February 1, 2026, following the retirement of Dilraj Singh (IAS).

In departmental postings, Kumar Amit (IAS, 2010) will continue as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director, MARKFED, and has been given additional charge of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. Vimal Kumar Setia (IAS, 2010) has been posted as Secretary, Home Affairs. Puneet Goyal (IAS, 2010) has been appointed Special Secretary, Medical Education and Research. Syed Sehrish Asgar (IAS, 2013) has been posted as Special Secretary, Power, New and Renewable Energy Sources, and Water Supply and Sanitation, along with charge as Head of Department, Water Supply and Sanitation.

In urban development roles, Sakshi Sawhney (IAS, 2014) will continue as Chief Administrator, GMADA, with additional charge of PUDA and Director, Town and Country Planning. Neeru Katyal Gupta (IAS, 2016) has been posted as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana. Aparna M. B. (IAS, 2021) has been posted as Chief Administrator, Patiala Development Authority.

In the revenue and home departments, Paramvir Singh (IAS, 2015) has been appointed Special Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation, and Director, Land Records, Jalandhar. Amandeep Kaur (IAS, 2015) has been transferred as Special Secretary, NRI Affairs. Ankurjeet Singh (IAS, 2018) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Home Affairs, while T. Benith (IAS, 2018) has been posted as Additional Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation.

Among PCS officers, Shikha Bhagat (PCS, 2012) will continue as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Phagwara, with additional charge as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Phagwara. Karandeep Singh (PCS, 2017) has been appointed Deputy Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Khushpreet Singh (PCS, 2025) will continue as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Lopoke, with additional charge as Estate Officer, Amritsar Development Authority. Rajbir Singh (PCS, 2025) has been posted as Chief Minister’s Field Officer, Ferozepur. Arvind Kumar (PCS, 2025) has been posted as Chief Minister’s Field Officer, Sri Muktsar Sahib. Kuldip Chand (PCS, 2025) has been appointed Chief Minister’s Field Officer, Gurdaspur.
