New Delhi, January 9, 2026: The Government of India on Friday issued a series of notifications announcing new appointments, postings, additional charge assignments, and a premature repatriation across key ministries and departments.
Deepak Soni (IAS: 2011, Chhattisgarh cadre) has been appointed Director in the Department of Health and Family Welfare for a period of five years. Gaurav Katiyar (IES: 2013) has been appointed Deputy Secretary in NITI Aayog for a tenure of four years.
Unde Yogesh Pandurang (IRS C&IT: 2014) has been appointed Senior Manager at the Deputy Secretary level at the Tribal Co Operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), Ahmedabad, Gujarat Region, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, for a tenure of four years. Raj Kumar (IOFS: 2012) has been named Deputy General Manager at the Director level at TRIFED, Ranchi, Bihar Jharkhand Region, also under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, for a period of five years.
Zainab Sayeed (IRS C&IT: 2015) has been appointed Senior Manager at the Deputy Secretary level at TRIFED, Kolkata, West Bengal Region, for four years. Harvinder Pal Singh (IRS C&IT: 2015) has been posted as Senior Manager at the Deputy Secretary level at TRIFED, Delhi NCR, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, for a period of four years. His post has been designated as a non CSS position.
Sudhansh Pant (IAS: 1991, Rajasthan cadre), Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been entrusted with additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), from January 12, 2026 to January 20, 2026, during the leave of V Vidyavathi (IAS: 1991, Karnataka cadre).
The post of Private Secretary at Deputy Secretary level to the Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, presently held by Pankaj Jain (IAS: 2012, Madhya Pradesh cadre), has been re designated as Private Secretary at Director level to the same minister. His tenure in the re designated post will continue up to February 26, 2030. His central deputation tenure is effective from February 27, 2025.

Meanwhile, Satya Prakash Vashishth (IFoS, Assam Meghalaya cadre, 1994), Executive Director (Administration) at Joint Secretary level at the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
These appointments and changes reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across tribal development, health, policy planning, social justice, and environmental governance.
