State-owned Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has appointed Priya Ranjan as the Director-in-Charge of its Bokaro Steel Plant, the company announced on Friday.

The appointment places Ranjan at the helm of one of SAIL’s largest integrated steel plants, which plays a key role in the company’s production capacity and supply to infrastructure, construction and manufacturing sectors.

Priya Ranjan brings extensive experience within SAIL, having held several leadership positions across operations, production management and plant administration. His familiarity with large-scale steel manufacturing and project execution is expected to support operational efficiency and productivity at the Bokaro facility.

The Bokaro Steel Plant is a major contributor to SAIL’s overall output and serves customers across eastern and northern India. The unit has been undergoing capacity enhancement and technology upgrades to improve product quality and energy efficiency.

An official familiar with the development said, “The leadership change is expected to strengthen on-ground execution and support the plant’s modernisation efforts.”

With the new Director-in-Charge assuming responsibility, the plant is expected to continue its focus on production optimisation, safety compliance and timely delivery to key sectors.
