The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has signed an agreement with M/s NAM InfoCom Pvt. Ltd. for the joint development of a Mission Critical Communication System (MCX) solution. The partnership marks a major milestone in advancing India’s self-reliance in secure, real-time communication technologies for public safety, defense, and disaster response.
Under C-DOT’s MCX Alliance initiative, the organization has partnered with 10 different entities—primarily startups—to strengthen the MCX ecosystem in India. The solution, aligned with 3GPP standards, will support Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT), Mission Critical Data (MCData), and Mission Critical Video (MCVideo) services. Designed for use over 4G and 5G networks, the system will ensure secure, reliable, low-latency audio and video communication, particularly for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) agencies.
As part of this collaboration, NAM InfoCom will focus on developing the MC Video component, enhancing the existing MCX system built by C-DOT. The new module will offer multi-stream capability, recording, scalability for multiple group or one-to-one calls, and floor control functions—tailored to the needs of first responders and critical infrastructure users.
The initiative is fully funded under C-DOT’s Collaborative Research Programme (CCRP). C-DOT will provide technical R&D and system design expertise, while NAM InfoCom will contribute its strengths in integration, deployment, and field-level customization.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT, said, “Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, C-DOT aims to drive collaborative indigenous technology development through startups, ensuring secure and reliable communication for first responders and public safety organizations.”
The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. D. Arunan, Director, NAM InfoCom; Ms. Shikha Srivastava, Executive Vice President, C-DOT; and senior officials from both organizations.
