Bureaucratic reshuffle at Centre, S Gopalakrishnan made Chairman National Recruitment Agency

In a series of significant administrative updates, the central government has released fresh notifications covering appointments, tenure extensions, repatriations, and diplomatic postings across various ministries and services. The detailed list is as follows:


  • Parthasarathy Bhaskar Devarakonda (IRS C&IT: 2012) appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat on lateral shift basis, tenure up to 22.06.2026. 
  • Deepak Srivastava (IOFS: 2008) gets a two-year extension as Director, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, up to 12.03.2028. 
  • Abhishek Narang (IRS IT: 2008) receives a six-month extension as Private Secretary to the Minister for Food Processing Industries beyond 31.12.2025. 
  • S Gopalakrishnan (IAS: 1991: TN) assigned additional charge as Chairman, National Recruitment Agency. 
  • Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS: 1992: OR) given additional charge as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities from 22.11.2025 to 03.12.2025. 
  • Dheeraj Mittal (IFoS: 2012: GJ) prematurely repatriated to parent cadre from the Department of Food & Public Distribution. 
  • Dr Anju Rathi Rana, ILS appointed as Member Secretary, 23rd Law Commission of India for the remainder of its term. 
  • Dr Rajiv Mani, ILS gets extension as Secretary, Legislative Department up to 31.07.2028 and additional charge as Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs. 
  • Thillaivasan Prabhu (IOFS: 2001) receives a two-year extension as CVO, Cochin Port Authority, up to 25.12.2027. 
  • Ajay Madhukar Mhetre (ITS: 1998) gets a two-year extension as CVO, Western Coalfields Ltd., up to 26.12.2027. 
  • Surendra Singh Yadav (IPS: 1997: AGMUT) prematurely repatriated to parent cadre from BSF. 
  • Jawed Ashraf (Retd IFS: 1991) appointed Chairman, India Trade Promotion Organisation for a two-year contractual term. 
  • Aashish Kumar (IPS: 2022: WB) cadre changed from West Bengal to AGMUT on grounds of marriage. 
  • Avinash Lavania (IAS: 2009: MP) appointed as Director, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare for five years. 
  • Latha Ganapathy (IAS: 2007: TN) prematurely repatriated to parent cadre from the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. 
  • Charanjeet Singh (IFS: 1996) appointed Ambassador/PR of India to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Geneva. 
  • Dr Adarsh Swaika (IFS: 2002) concurrently accredited as Ambassador of India to Somalia with residence in Nairobi.

  • Neeraj Agrawal (YOA: 2009) appointed Ambassador of India to Mauritania. 
  • Abhishek Singh (IFS: 2003) concurrently accredited as Permanent Representative of India to ECOWAS, with residence in Abuja. 
  • Manav Verma (IPS: 2015: HP) inducted as Superintendent of Police, National Investigation Agency.
