Amit Kumar Ghosh among 3 Senior IAS promoted to  ACS rank in Uttar Pradesh, Check List

The Uttar Pradesh government has elevated three senior IAS officers of the 1994 batch to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary, marking a major reshuffle in the state bureaucracy.


Promoted from Principal Secretary to Additional Chief Secretary are:

  • Amit Kumar Ghosh – Principal Secretary, Medical Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education

  • Leena Johri – Principal Secretary, Women & Child Development and Director General, Rashtriya Poshan Mission

  • Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma – Principal Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education

All three officers will continue to serve in their existing portfolios, now in their elevated capacities as Additional Chief Secretaries.

The promotions strengthen leadership across strategically vital departments that play a key role in health, education, and welfare. Amit Kumar Ghosh has been instrumental in shaping Uttar Pradesh’s public health and medical education ecosystem, particularly during and after the pandemic. Leena Johri, overseeing Women & Child Development, is driving key initiatives under the Rashtriya Poshan Mission to combat malnutrition. Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, a seasoned administrator and writer, is spearheading reforms in school education with a focus on improving learning outcomes and enhancing digital infrastructure across both basic and secondary education.
