The Chhattisgarh government announced a major bureaucratic reshuffle, involving the transfer and reassignment of 10 IAS officers across key departments. The move includes the appointment of senior officials to critical roles, with several officers being entrusted with additional responsibilities aimed at strengthening governance and streamlining administrative operations.

Reena Kangale gets dual charge
Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, a 2003-batch IAS officer, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. Along with her current role in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, she will now also oversee the Revenue and Land Records Department.

Avinash Champawat also assigned additional duties
Avinash Champawat, also from the 2003 batch, has been given charge of the General Administration Department, in addition to heading the Public Grievance Redressal Department.

Padmini Bhoi removed from CGMSC amidst controversy
Padmini Bhoi, who was serving as Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC), has been removed in light of ongoing controversy surrounding a drug procurement scam. She has now been appointed as Director, Pension and Registrar of Firms & Societies. IAS officer Ritesh Kumar Agrawal will take over as the new Managing Director of CGMSC.

Dr. Ravi Mittal given key CM Secretariat role
Dr. Ravi Mittal, a 2016-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, in addition to his existing roles as Commissioner of Public Relations and CEO of Samvad.

New Appointments and Assignments:

  • Reena Baba Saheb Kangale: Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department; Commissioner, Rehabilitation Department and Land Records.

  • Avinash Champawat: Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance Redressal Department.

  • Ritesh Kumar Agrawal: Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC).

  • Prabhat Malik: Joint Secretary, Good Governance and Coordination Department.

  • Ravi Mittal: Joint Secretary, CM Secretariat; Commissioner, Public Relations; CEO, Samvad.

  • Jayashree Jain: Deputy Secretary, Forest, Climate and Change Department.
