M.M. Suryawanshi Appointed Municipal Commissioner of Vasai Virar Among 20 IAS Officers Transferred in Maharashtra

In a significant administrative move, the Maharashtra government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the transfer and promotion of 20 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various departments. This large-scale reshuffle aims to strengthen governance and optimise departmental efficiency by realigning senior bureaucratic responsibilities across the state.

This strategic overhaul has been in planning for the past six to seven months, reflecting the government’s long-term administrative roadmap. The newly released list includes lateral transfers and promotions to higher responsibilities, significantly impacting key departments including social welfare, tourism, urban development, and tribal affairs.

Among the notable appointments, M.M. Suryawanshi has been appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation, Vasai, moving from his previous role as Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Mumbai. Deepa Mudhol-Munde (IAS: 2011) assumes charge as the Commissioner of Social Welfare, Pune, after serving as Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML).
