F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV), a global leader in application and API security, has announced an expanded strategic partnership with MinIO, the leading provider of high-performance, object-native AI storage. The strengthened collaboration is designed to power high-performance, secure, and scalable AI data pipelines—specifically targeting the growing demands of AI factories handling advanced inference and training workloads sourced from globally distributed edge locations, data centers, and cloud infrastructures.

Combining the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) with MinIO’s AIStor Enterprise Edition, the partnership offers a hybrid multicloud solution built for AI/ML pipelines, exascale data storage, and efficient data replication. The collaboration directly addresses enterprise challenges including high cloud costs, AI latency bottlenecks, and the growing demand for secure, scalable data access.

A leading global automotive manufacturer exemplifies the success of this alliance—leveraging F5 and MinIO to securely collect and process vehicular data across the globe, stream it through F5’s traffic-managed regional PoPs, and store it in centralized AI factories using MinIO’s high-performance storage. These AI factories then train and validate autonomous driving models, with updates securely delivered back to edge systems—ensuring robust, real-time improvements in perception, decision-making, and vehicle performance.

This deployment showcases the synergy of F5’s intelligent traffic routing and load balancing with MinIO’s AI-optimized storage, delivering differentiated performance in environments where latency, reliability, and security are critical. The joint solution effectively distinguishes WAN from LAN traffic, ensuring optimal performance across networks and supporting dynamic scaling to handle exascale workloads.

Aligned with F5’s AI Reference Architecture, the partnership equips organizations with key AI/ML capabilities, including fine-tuning, model training, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). It is already in use across industries such as automotive, finance, IoT, manufacturing, and media—enabling rapid processing, secure data management, and efficient AI workflows.

Core use cases include:

  • High-throughput traffic management for batch and real-time AI data ingestion;
  • Data repatriation to reduce cloud costs and ensure regulatory compliance;
  • Secure, multi-cloud backup and disaster recovery for distributed enterprises;
  • Scalable support for AI model training and real-time data access for RAG use cases.

“AI and data-intensive applications require high-performance pipelines,” said John Maddison, Chief Product and Corporate Marketing Officer at F5. “This solution enables simplified deployment, reduced TCO, and robust data management within a secure global framework.”

Garima Kapoor, co-founder and co-CEO of MinIO, added, “Our partnership gives enterprises the ability to scale AI infrastructure with confidence—maintaining control over performance, costs, and governance from the edge to the AI factory.”
