Andhra Pradesh Government Enters MoU to Establish India’s First “Creator Academy”

In a landmark initiative aimed at positioning Andhra Pradesh (AP) as a global creative and digital content hub, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch what will be branded as the Creator Academy, a pioneering facility within the newly announced Creator Land entertainment city.

The agreement, reached during the WAVES Summit in Singapore, was sealed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Education, IT and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, and representatives of Creativeland Asia, the media firm partnering with the state. The Creator Academy is a cornerstone of the larger Transmedia Entertainment City project, Creator Land, which is touted to be India’s first integrated creative ecosystem.

As stated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the project is designed to spur development through state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, global partnerships, and targeted training in future‑oriented digital disciplines. Creator Land aims to generate up to 25,000 direct and ancillary jobs, attract foreign direct investment of approximately ₹10,000 crore over the next six years, and elevate AP’s presence in global creative industries.

The Creator Academy will serve as the educational and vocational arm of the entertainment city. It is envisioned to equip youth and creative professionals with skills in content creation, including filmmaking, gaming, music production, virtual production, and AI‑driven storytelling techniques. The initiative seeks to channel local creative talent into globally competitive production pipelines under the rallying call: “Create in AP & Create for the World.”

Situated in the Amaravati region, Creator Land is intended to become a world‑class destination for creative innovation and digital content development. Through alliance with global media and technology partners, the Academy is expected to deliver immersive training, credential certification, and hands‑on exposure in next‑generation content technologies. The broader entertainment city will support studios, production houses, gaming labs, training facilities, coworking spaces, and live‑event venues.

By fostering this creative economy, the AP government seeks to diversify the state’s industrial landscape, moving beyond traditional sectors into high‑growth, knowledge‑based areas. The venture is expected to empower local entrepreneurs, catalyse startups in the creative and tech domains, support regional economic development, and enhance Andhra Pradesh’s brand as a cutting‑edge destination for innovation.

Officials emphasise that the MoU establishes a public‑private partnership model with clear governance, investment inflows, and performance metrics. The initial phase will focus on infrastructure planning, curriculum design, faculty recruitment, and forging tie‑ups with international institutions. Over the ensuing years, successive phases will expand facilities, ramp up student intake, and scale production capabilities.

In summary, through the adoption of this partnership, Andhra Pradesh’s government aims to leapfrog into a leadership position in India’s emerging creative economy. By combining educational excellence, digital storytelling, and immersive media platforms under one umbrella, Creator Academy and Creator Land are poised to reimagine how regional talent is nurtured and showcased on a global stage.
