The Rajasthan startup ecosystem has witnessed rapid growth, driven by strong government support, increasing entrepreneurial activity, and a nurturing environment for innovation. Cities like Jaipur have emerged as vibrant startup hubs, especially in sectors such as fintech, edtech, e-commerce, and healthcare.

The proactive initiatives by the state government make it one of the most supportive environments for entrepreneurs in India. Programs like iStart Rajasthan have played a pivotal role in nurturing innovation by offering incubation, mentorship, funding, and investor connections.

Initiatives by the State Government

Launched in 2017 by the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Government of
Rajasthan, the iStart program is a flagship initiative designed to nurture, support, and scale startups across the state. It offers end-to-end support through:

- Funding Assistance
- Incubation & Mentorship
- Networking Opportunities
- Government Work Orders via the e-Bazaar Portal
With over 5,749 startups registered across all 33 districts, 310 supported by government incubators, and more than 37,000 jobs created, its impact is substantial. Startups have raised over 1,003 crore in investments and received ₹21.32 crore in government orders.
Under the program, pre-seed stage startups receive financial support ranging from ₹2.4 lakhs to up to ₹60 lakhs, while growthstage startups are eligible for funding of up to ₹2 crores, offered as debt convertible to grant. iStart fosters a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem by enabling market access, investor connections, and growth opportunities—driving innovation and economic development in the state.
- The iStart School Program, a flagship initiative under Rajasthan’s iStart umbrella, fosters entrepreneurial thinking among students by establishing 66 Launchpads in government schools and colleges across all 33 districts. It introduces students to entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and innovation through workshops, boot camps, and interactive sessions. With participation from over 1,00,000 students and 800+ rural innovators, the program nurtures young talent, especially in rural areas. Strategic collaborations with investors and academic institutions further strengthen the startup ecosystem and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
- The Atal Innovation Studios and Accelerators Program is an initiative designed to boost innovation and entrepreneurship across India, including Rajasthan. Launched under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), it aims to create a network of world-class innovation hubs that provide startups with mentorship, industry connections, and access to cuttingedge facilities. The government has allocated INR 1,000 crore to establish these centers in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, and Udaipur to support young talent in cutting-edge technologies. These centers will focus on sectors like coding, robotics, and VFX.
- The launch of iStart 2.0 brings additional initiatives, including a 100 crore fund of funds, 1,000 crore for Innovation Hubs, and a target of creating 50,000 jobs. The program also emphasises agribusiness innovation, rural entrepreneurship, technological upgrades, and supporting women entrepreneurs through dedicated hubs.
