The Uttarakhand government has announced the transfer and reassignment of four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, aimed at strengthening governance and improving project delivery across key departments.
According to an official order issued by the Personnel Department, the reshuffle is effective immediately and reflects the state’s intent to streamline administrative functions and accelerate developmental initiatives.
Key Changes in Officer Assignments:
- Ranveer Singh Chauhan (2009 batch) has been relieved from his post as Project Director, Namami Gange, but retains his current roles as Secretary for Sugarcane & Sugar, State Property, Project Director of KfW, and Director-General for Agriculture & Horticulture.
- Nitika Khandelwal (2015 batch), currently serving as District Magistrate of Tehri Garhwal, will now also hold the additional charge of Vice Chairperson of the Tehri Development Authority, broadening her administrative responsibilities.
- Gaurav Kumar (2017 batch) has been assigned additional responsibilities as Additional Secretary for the Departments of IT, Good Governance, and Science & Technology. He has also been appointed as Managing Director of HILTRON, while retaining his existing roles as Additional Secretary, Urban Development, and Managing Director of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA).
- Vishal Mishra (2018 batch) has been appointed as Project Director of Namami Gange, while continuing to serve as Managing Director of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd (GMVN) and as Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
- Apoorva Pandey (2018 batch): Besides her work as Additional Secretary of Drinking Water, she’s been given the added responsibility of Director of Swajal, overseeing water and sanitation schemes.

The transfer order was signed by Rajendra Singh Patiyal, Joint Secretary, Personnel, and will be enforced with immediate effect.
