Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation various development projects totalling over ₹24,000 crore in Dahod, Gujarat. In a spirited address, he recalled the symbolic significance of May 26—the date he was first sworn in as Prime Minister in 2014—and reflected on India’s transformative journey since then. “India has emerged from an era of despair and darkness into a new age of confidence and optimism,” he stated.
He underscored the collective strength of 140 crore Indians in building a Viksit Bharat, asserting that self-reliance is the foundation of this vision. “Everything we need for our country’s progress must be made right here, in India,” he declared, highlighting growth in the manufacturing sector—from smartphones and automobiles to defence equipment and railway technology.

One of the key highlights was the Dahod Electric Locomotive Factory, where the first indigenously manufactured electric locomotive was flagged off. He celebrated Gujarat’s 100% railway electrification and expansion of Vande Bharat Express routes, including a new service from Ahmedabad to Veraval. “India has become a global hub for railway manufacturing,” he said, noting exports to countries like Australia, France, England, and Mexico.

PM Modi emphasised that factories like the one in Dahod will not only manufacture 9,000-horsepower locomotives but also generate massive employment and boost the local economy. He pointed out that this model of industrial growth, supported by small and medium enterprises, has ripple effects across agriculture, trade, and services.

Highlighting Gujarat’s transformation into a high-tech corridor, the Prime Minister cited developments in Vadodara, Godhra, Kalol, and Halol in aircraft, rail, and automotive manufacturing. He said this region would soon be recognised globally for producing everything from bicycles to aeroplanes.

On the socio-economic front, he emphasised the government’s unwavering focus on tribal development. “Unprecedented efforts have been made over the last 11 years for the development of tribal society,” he said. Initiatives like the Dhartii Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janman Yojana aim to bring infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment to over 60,000 tribal villages, backed by ₹80,000 crore of central investment.
PM Modi cited Dahod’s rise from a backward district to an Aspirational District as an example of successful transformation. Water connectivity projects, smart infrastructure, and educational institutions, including Eklavya Model Schools and tribal universities, are enabling upliftment. “The development of tribal regions is essential for building a developed India,” he remarked.

Turning to national security, Modi invoked the courage and unity of the people following recent terror attacks. “Operation Sindoor is not just a military action—it is an expression of the values and sentiments of us Indians,” he said, highlighting the precision strike on nine terror hubs within 22 minutes, and praising the valour of the Indian Armed Forces.
He concluded with a message of gratitude to the women of India and a tribute to Dahod’s legacy of sacrifice—from Maharishi Dadhichi to tribal warriors of Mangarh Dham. “This land has always stood for justice, bravery, and national pride,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to India’s progress.
