
Lucknow, April 1: The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has initiated an extensive development plan to uplift underdeveloped and slum areas across 17 districts of the state. With a focus on enhancing urban infrastructure and providing better living conditions, the government has approved over 250 projects aimed at bringing essential amenities to marginalized communities.
As part of the Mukhyamantri Nagariya Alp Viksit Malin Basti Vikas Yojana, a total of Rs 20.88 crore has been sanctioned for the execution of these projects. Out of this, Rs 3.35 crore has been allocated for 166 projects in districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mau, Basti, Jalaun, Siddharthnagar, Moradabad, Sant Kabir Nagar, Jaunpur, Bulandshahr, and Maharajganj. Additionally, Rs 17.53 crore has been earmarked for 95 projects in Kanpur, Fatehpur, Raebareli, Kannauj, Azamgarh, and Kaushambi.
The implementation of these initiatives is expected to significantly improve infrastructure in slum areas by providing better roads, efficient drainage systems, and improved street lighting. These efforts align with the state government’s broader mission to ensure equitable urban development and uplift the standard of living for disadvantaged sections of society.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been at the forefront of numerous developmental reforms aimed at transforming Uttar Pradesh. His administration’s commitment to enhancing civic facilities and addressing urban challenges has resulted in rapid progress across multiple sectors.

Speaking about the initiative, officials emphasized that the projects will not only improve living conditions but also contribute to the state’s overall urban development. The upgraded infrastructure will facilitate smoother transportation, better sanitation, and increased safety for residents, ultimately leading to socio-economic progress.

The residents of these areas have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about the positive changes these developments will bring. With improved amenities, they anticipate a better quality of life, increased hygiene, and enhanced safety in their neighborhoods.
