Uttar Pradesh Government and Google Collaborate on “Beej se Bazaar” Initiative

The “Beej se Bazaar” initiative, embodying Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming agriculture from seed to market, is taking shape in Uttar Pradesh through technical interventions and AI technology.

In collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, Google has established an Open Network on Agentic Framework under a Generative AI partnership. This transformative model addresses key agricultural challenges, including soil health, crop yield optimization, acreage management, farmer advisory services, and creating a dynamic marketplace for agricultural produce.

“The realisation of this transformative vision is largely attributed to the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chief Secretary Manoj K. Singh, along with the dedication of Uttar Pradesh government officials. Significant contributions from agritech companies, IFC, the World Bank, and MSI Protean have also been instrumental,” writes Ashish Wattal, Country Director, Public Sector, EdTech & MidMarket at Google Cloud, in a LinkedIn post. He also highlighted that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to integrate financial inclusion through technology.
