
Deepak Meena, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Ghaziabad, taking over from Indra Vikram Singh, a 2010-batch IAS officer. Meena is set to assume charge on Saturday.
Previously serving as the DM of Meerut since April 2022, Meena brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new role. His career includes significant positions such as joint magistrate in Azamgarh, Saharanpur, and Aligarh, as well as chief development officer in Agra and Saharanpur.

Born on July 15, 1986, Meena is an IIT Kharagpur alumnus with a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering. Before joining the civil services, he briefly worked at Tata Steel. After clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2011, he underwent training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.

Meena has outlined his priorities for Ghaziabad, emphasising the grassroots implementation of government welfare schemes and a strong focus on infrastructure projects, such as the near-completion of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). Traffic management and urban development also feature prominently on his agenda for the district.
