Parveen Sabharwal appointed as Director of Urja Mobility

Urja Mobility, a pioneer in the EV battery leasing sector, has announced the appointment of Parveen Sabharwal as Director. Bringing over four decades of expertise in banking and finance, Sabharwal’s leadership is set to spearhead the company’s growth while advancing India’s e-mobility ecosystem.

With a proven track record in credit underwriting, policy formulation, and strategic team building, Sabharwal has consistently delivered impactful results across his career. His deep understanding of the green energy ecosystem aligns perfectly with Urja Mobility’s mission to revolutionize energy consumption and optimize supply chain management for the electric mobility sector.

Currently serving as Vice President of Corporate Strategies at a leading NBFC specialising in EV financing, Sabharwal plays a critical role in approvals for credit proposals and diversifying product portfolios. His prior experience as CEO of Mufin Green Finance highlights his ability to lead transformative initiatives in sustainable finance.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Parveen Sabharwal stated: “I am thrilled to join Urja Mobility during this exciting phase of growth. I look forward to leveraging my experience to accelerate sustainable innovations and contribute to the company’s vision of transforming the e-mobility space.”

Founder Pankaj Chopra welcomed the appointment, saying: “Parveen Sabharwal’s expertise and strategic insights will be instrumental in guiding us through our next phase of growth. His appointment reinforces our commitment to building a robust and sustainable e-mobility ecosystem in India.”

The announcement follows Urja Mobility’s successful Pre-Series A funding round, led by Mufin Green Finance Limited and Hindon Mercantile Limited. This capital infusion aims to bolster the company’s EV battery leasing operations and infrastructure. With plans to raise an additional ₹250 crores by early 2025, Urja Mobility is poised to expand its footprint further in India’s e-mobility landscape.

Based in New Delhi, Urja Mobility is a leading start-up specializing in battery leasing for commercial electric vehicles. Its innovative solutions make EV ownership more accessible by converting the upfront cost of lithium-ion batteries into an easy Monthly Lease Value (MLV), allowing operators to pay from future earnings. Urja Mobility’s portfolio includes battery leasing for L3, L5, and L2 categories of electric vehicles, driving sustainability and economic efficiency in the commercial EV sector.
