In a significant move to enhance the implementation of public welfare programs and development projects, the Chhattisgarh government has designated 33 IAS officers as in-charge secretaries for the state’s 33 districts. This initiative, mandated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, aims to ensure effective monitoring of district-level activities and strengthen grassroots governance.
Under this new arrangement, the in-charge secretaries will conduct regular visits to their respective districts and submit detailed monthly reports to the Chief Secretary, highlighting their observations and progress.
Key Appointments:
- Renu G. Pillai (1991 batch), Additional Chief Secretary, has been assigned to Dhamtari.
- Subrata Sahu (1992-batch), Additional Chief Secretary, will oversee Durg.
- Richa Sharma (1994-batch) takes charge of Raipur, while Manoj Kumar Pingua (1994-batch) is appointed to Bilaspur.
- Niharika Barik (1997-batch), Principal Secretary, is tasked with supervising Mahasamund.
Other Notable Assignments:
- Sonmani Bora (1999-batch), Principal Secretary, for Janjgir Champa.
- Rohit Yadav (2002-batch), Secretary, for Korba, and Kamalpreet Singh (2002-batch), Secretary, for Bastar.
- Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi (2003-batch), Secretary, will oversee Balodabazar-Bhatapara, while Prasanna R. is assigned to Kabirdham.
- R. Shangita (2005-batch) is appointed to Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, and Rajat Kumar (2005-batch) to Raigarh.
Further assignments include Narendra Kumar Dugga (2008-batch) for Sukma, S. Bharathidasan (2006-batch) for Mungeli, and Saurabh Kumar (2009-batch) for Dantewada, among others.
