L Satya Srinivas appointed as CEO of Government e-Marketplace

L Satya Srinivas, a 1991-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer (Customs & Indirect Taxes) and Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Government of India, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) on additional charge. Srinivas, who also serves as India’s Chief Negotiator for India-EU and India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, oversees Special Economic Zones and the Trade Intelligence & Analytics divisions at the Department of Commerce.


In a statement, GeM announced, “Shri Srinivas, with his extensive experience and commitment to innovation, is poised to lead GeM into a dynamic new phase of growth and success.”

This leadership change follows the appointment of the former GeM CEO, Prashant Kumar Singh, as the new Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
