Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the newly constructed Police Commissioner’s Office in Ahmedabad, built at a cost of ₹140 crore. The seven-story building, equipped with modern facilities such as a gym, public parking, CCTV cameras, and fire safety systems, marks a new era for Ahmedabad Police, aiming to establish a proactive and scientific approach to policing. The launch also included the inauguration of the ‘Joint Interrogation Center’, the ‘Tera Tujhko Arpan’ portal, and the ‘Cyber Saathi’ book.

Shah highlighted the technological advancements of Gujarat Police, including initiatives like ‘E-GujCop’, body-worn cameras, and the ‘Vishwas’ project, emphasizing their role in making Gujarat Police the most modern force in India. He praised their exemplary campaign against narcotics, now considered a national model. Shah also emphasized the importance of the three new criminal laws that will streamline the judicial process, ensuring timely justice.

Reflecting on the significant reduction of violence in former hotspots like Kashmir and Naxal-affected areas, Shah stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, a ‘Naxal-free’ and ‘terrorism-free’ India is within reach. He also reiterated PM Modi’s vision of a proactive policing approach and the transition to a modern criminal justice system, which is expected to be fully operational within the next three years.
