Pratyay Amrit

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government on Tuesday transferred seven senior IAS officers, bringing notable changes to key administrative roles. Chaitanya Prasad has been removed from his position as Development Commissioner, and Pratyay Amrit has been appointed as his successor. The Development Commissioner role is regarded as the second most important position in the state’s bureaucracy, just below the Chief Secretary.

As per the official notification, Chaitanya Prasad, who previously served as Development Commissioner, has now been reassigned as the Chief Investigation Commissioner in the General Administration Department.

Mihir Kumar Singh, who held multiple portfolios including Additional Chief Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department and the Mines and Geology Department, has now been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department. He will now solely focus on his new assignment and will be relieved of his previous roles, including that of the Chief Investigation Commissioner.
