Microsoft India has signed an MoU with Government of Telangana to launch the ADVANTA(I)GE TELANGANA initiative at the Telangana Global AI Summit. This initiative is an extension of the ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA program that began in February 2024.
Through ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA, Microsoft aims to empower 2 million Indians with AI skills by 2025. The Telangana initiative will advance this vision with several key programs. The AI Foundations Academy will bring AI education to 500 government schools, impacting 50,000 students. Additionally, in partnership with the Ministry of Skill Development, Microsoft will offer basic and advanced AI courses, including a 1600-hour AI Programming Assistant micro-degree aimed at enhancing employability in rural areas.
The program also includes the AI-Industry Pro initiative, which will upskill 20,000 industry workers in Telangana, and the AI-Govern initiative, which will train 50,000 government officials in digital productivity, Generative AI, and cybersecurity.
