Kerala Police


In a recent move, the Kerala government has implemented a minor reshuffle within the Indian Police Service (IPS) across the state. The adjustments include several key positions:

  • IPS C Nagaraju (2003 batch), currently serving as Inspector General (IG) of Crimes, will now assume the role of State Transport Commissioner. He replaces IPS A Akbar (2005 batch), who has been appointed as IG of Crimes in Ernakulam.
  • IPS S Syamsundar, formerly Kochi City Police Commissioner, is set to take on the role of IG for the South Zone. He will also be in additional charge of managing director at the Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation (KPHCC).
  • IPS Jayanath J, the current Managing Director of KPHCC, has been reassigned as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for the Protection of Civil Rights.
  • IPS Putta Vimaladitya, the DIG (Anti-Terrorist Squad), will now serve as DIG and Commissioner of Police for Kochi City while also maintaining the additional responsibility of DIG for the Anti-Terrorist Squad.
  • The DIG (Thrissur Range), IPS Thomson Jose, will charge an additional DIG fee for the Ernakulam Range.
  • IPS Hari Sankar, the existing SP for Cyber Operations, will also assume the Additional Inspector General (AIG) role for Personnel.
  • IPS Himendranath, the current SP for the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) in Ernakulam will transition to SP for Crimes in Kottayam.
  • Malappuram SP, IPS Sasidharan, will be relocated to SP for VACB Ernakulam, and Officer Viswanadh R will step in as the new SP for Malappuram.
