Yogesh Bahadur Khurania appointed as new DGP of Odisha

In a significant administrative move, the Odisha government on Friday appointed Yogesh Bahadur Khurania (IPS: 1990: OD) as the new Director General of Police (DGP). The selection was made from a panel of three names recommended by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Khurania, who was serving as the Special Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Western Command in Chandigarh, was repatriated to his parent cadre on August 2. With extensive experience in Odisha, including his previous role as the Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Khurania is well-versed in the state’s law enforcement dynamics.
