Google India has announced the appointment of Rajesh Ranjan as its new Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy. Ranjan, who brings a wealth of experience in the industry, will spearhead the company’s efforts to collaborate with policymakers, industry leaders, and communities to drive innovation and positive change in the tech sector.

Ranjan has been widely recognized for his contributions to the industry and his commitment to public policy. His approach will be instrumental in navigating the complex landscape of government relations and ensuring that Google’s initiatives align with the broader goals of societal progress.

With Ranjan at the helm, Google India is poised to strengthen its relationships with key stakeholders and continue its mission to foster a more connected and accessible world.

Rajesh Ranjan is a seasoned Government Affairs and Public Policy leader with a robust career trajectory spanning various high-impact roles across multiple organizations. Before his current role, he was the Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Policy at Microsoft, where he spent over three years.

Rajesh also worked at KPMG for over eight years in various capacities, including Associate Director and Manager, where he led program management for key government projects in India, such as those with the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Ministry of Statistics, and the Agriculture Ministry’s India initiative. His role involved creating and executing strategies for digital transformation, policy, and strategy development.

Earlier in his career, he held positions as a Business Leader at Radials International, a Business Lead at PE Consulting Investintoindia Pvt Ltd, and an Assistant Audit Officer at the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Rajesh began his professional journey as a Designer and Developer at Synergy Systems and Solutions. He also holds a Master’s in International Business from the Delhi School of Economics and a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Delhi University. Rajesh is also certified in various domains, including Artificial Intelligence and egovernance, and has been recognized for his excellence in execution and delivery.
