
The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has made significant selections for top roles in several Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Arvindar Singh Sahney has been chosen as the Director (Planning & Business Development) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), following an interview process involving 12 candidates. Sahney currently serves as Executive Director (Business Development – Petrochemicals) at IOCL. His appointment is pending requisite clearances and ACC approval and will follow the retirement of Sujoy Choudhury on August 31, 2024.
Similarly, Achyut Ghatak has been selected as the Director (Technical) at Coal India Limited (CIL), with 11 candidates interviewed. Ghatak currently holds the position of Director (Engineering and R&D) / Director Technical at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited. His appointment will be effective after the retirement of B Veera Reddy on August 31, 2024.
For Engineers India Limited (EIL), Subhas Balakumar has been named as the Director (Projects). Currently serving as Executive Director in New Delhi, EIL, Balakumar’s appointment will commence after the retirement of Rajeev Gupta on September 30, 2024.

In other key appointments, Joydeep Dasgupta has been selected as the Director (Production) for NMDC Limited, and Mohan Raj Shetty has been chosen as the Chairman & Managing Director for Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), a Schedule ‘B’ PSU. Shetty is presently the General Manager, Town Administrator, at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
