Kathikala Srinivasa appointed Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs

The Union Government has appointed senior IAS officer Kathikala Srinivasa as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Srinivasa, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre, previously served as the Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.


With over three decades of experience in the Indian bureaucracy, Srinivasa has held various prominent positions, including Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) and Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

He also served as Principal Secretary in Gujarat’s Revenue Department and held key roles such as Secretary and Joint Managing Director of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam (SSNNL). Additionally, he led the Parivartan Cell, an innovation and change management unit within the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office.
