New Delhi, India – IAS officer Baranwal Varunkumar Jagdish, a 2014-batch officer of the Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Mr Piyush Goyal. This significant appointment, which highlights the trust placed in Officer Jagdish’s capabilities, is set for a tenure of four years.

Officer Jagdish’s tenure as OSD will commence from the date he assumes charge of the position. His role will be co-terminus with the tenure of the Union Minister, meaning it will last as long as Mr Piyush Goyal holds his ministerial position. Alternatively, his appointment could end earlier if he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or if further orders are issued.
