In a significant police reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has transferred 18 prominent IPS officers across the state. Noteworthy changes include:

• A Amalraj (1996 batch), previously Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Tambaram Police Commissioner, is now ADGP of the Enforcement Bureau CID in Chennai.
• A Arun (1998 batch) has assumed the position of Greater Chennai Police Commissioner.
• Abin Dinesh Modak (1997 batch), formerly ADGP/State Crime Records Bureau, is now the ADGP and Commissioner of Tambaram Police Commissionerate.
• IPS Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, previously with the DGP office, is now ADGP of Armed Police in Chennai, replacing IPS H M Jayaram, who has taken over as ADGP of the State Crime Records Bureau.
• IPS T S Anbu, previously Inspector General of Police (IGP) of CB-CID, will now also serve as ADGP of CB-CID, replacing IPS G Venkatraman, who has moved to the DGP’s office.
• IPS K S Narenthiran Nayar, formerly IGP of Chennai North Zone, is now IGP/Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order-North Chennai), succeeding IPS Asra Garg (2004 batch), who has taken over as IGP of North Zone.
• IPS Prem Anand Sinha, previously IGP/Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order-South Chennai), is now IGP of Madurai South Zone, succeeding IPS N Kannan, who takes over as IGP/Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) for South Chennai.
• IPS Vinit Dev Wankhade has been posted as the ADGP Headquarters.
• IPS Sanjay Kumar is now ADGP of Coastal Security Group (CSG), replaced by IPS Sandeep Mittal. The Director-General of Police, currently in Vacancy Reserve (VR), has been appointed as the DGP of Crime Against Women and Children, upgrading the post from ADGP to DGP in police headquarters.
• IPS Mahesh Kumar Agarwal is also posted as ADGP of the Armed Reserve Wing in Chennai.
• IPS R Tamil Chandran is now the Director of Technical Services, with the post upgraded from IGP to ADGP.
• IPS B Vijayakumari has been transferred as IGP of the Armed Reserve in Chennai.
• Praveen Kumar Abhinapu (2005 batch) and S Lakshmi (2006 batch) have been appointed as Commissioners of Salem City and Tirupur City, respectively.
