In a formal ceremony held at the state secretariat, Senior IAS Officer Ravi Kota officially took over the reins as the new Chief Secretary of Assam on Sunday, marking the transition from his previous role as Additional Chief Secretary. He succeeded Paban Kumar Borthakur, who recently retired from the position.

Having served as the Additional Chief Secretary overseeing Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Finance departments, Kota will retain responsibility for Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises despite being relieved of his duties in the Finance Department, according to an official order.

Expressing his gratitude, Shri Kota stated, “I seek support from all the people and colleagues to take forward the work of my predecessor. I hope to contribute to the development work being undertaken by the Assam government.” He emphasized his commitment to accelerating the pace of infrastructure projects across the state.
