Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched and initiated the construction of 114 National Highway projects throughout India, totaling approximately Rs 1 lakh crore. Among the notable projects is the inauguration of the Haryana section of the significant Dwarka Expressway.
The Dwarka Expressway spans 29 kilometers, with 18.9 kilometers running through Haryana and the remaining 10.1 kilometers through Delhi. This expressway aims to alleviate traffic congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48.
The foundation stone for the Dwarka Expressway was laid by former Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, and Nitin Gadkari on March 9, 2019. It is India’s first elevated 8-lane access control urban expressway and is estimated to cost Rs 9,000 crore.

The Haryana segment of the Dwarka Expressway, costing approximately Rs 4,100 crore, includes two packages: the 10.2-kilometer Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the 8.7-kilometer Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. It will offer direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and Gurugram Bypass.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated various other projects across the nation, including the Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, the NH16 section in Andhra Pradesh, the NH-21 section in Himachal Pradesh, and the Dobaspet-Heskote section in Karnataka, among others.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari were among the dignitaries present at the event, where the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for several other NH projects across the country.
