Key Appointments in Central Ministries, Manoj Joshi appointed Secretary Land Resources Department

In a series of notifications issued on Monday, the Central Government unveiled several significant appointments and transfers across various ministries and departments:


Manoj Joshi Appointed as Secretary, Department of Land Resources: Manoj Joshi (IAS: 1989: KL), previously serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been laterally appointed as Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, succeeding Nidhi Khare (IAS: 1992: JH).

Nidhi Khare Shifted to Ministry of Consumer Affairs: Following her tenure in Land Resources, Nidhi Khare has been appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. She is slated to assume the role of Secretary (Consumer Affairs) upon the retirement of R K Singh on March 31, 2024.

Anurag Jain Takes Additional Charge of Housing and Urban Affairs: Anurag Jain (IAS: 1989: MP), currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has been assigned the additional responsibility of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs until a regular incumbent is appointed.


Garima Mittal Appointed as Director in Department of Commerce: Under the Central Staffing Scheme, Garima Mittal (IAS: 2010: HY) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Commerce for five years.

Akhil Akhouri and Ridhima Vasisht‘s Appointments: Akhil Akhouri (CWES: 2010) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Delhi, for a term of four years, while Ridhima Vasisht (IRS IT: 2010) will serve as Director in the Ministry of Defence for five years.


Rajendra Kumar Soni Repatriated to Parent Cadre: Rajendra Kumar Soni (ITS: 1997), serving as Director in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre to avail the benefits of promotion.

Dhananjoy Mondal Appointed as Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer: Dhananjoy Mondal (ICoAS: 2011) has been appointed at the level of Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer, Deputy Secretary rank, in the Tea Board, Kolkata, for four years.
