Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, made a groundbreaking announcement on Wednesday during his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. Revealing ambitious plans, Adani stated that the ports-to-power conglomerate is set to inject a colossal sum of Rs 2 lakh crore into Gujarat over the next five years, generating more than 1,00,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
Speaking at the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Adani emphasised, “Over the next five years, the Adani Group will invest over Rs 2 Lakh Crores in Gujarat.” He also provided insights into the conglomerate’s past investments in the western state, surpassing the previously declared goal of Rs 55,000 crore by 2025.
Highlighting the Adani Group’s commitment towards sustainability, Adani mentioned the expansion of green supply chains, encompassing solar panels, green ammonia, hydrogen electrolysers, and wind turbines. He articulated, “We are expanding the green supply chain for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and creating the largest integrated, renewable energy ecosystem.”

Additionally, Adani disclosed plans for constructing the world’s largest green energy plant in Gujarat’s Kachchh district, spanning 725 sq. km with a renewable energy capacity of 30 GW.

Commending the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Adani attributed it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach, citing the amalgamation of grand ambition, massive scale, meticulous governance, and flawless execution. Adani praised the substantial economic growth under Modi’s leadership, with a 185% increase in GDP and a 165% rise in per capita income since 2014.

Expressing admiration for Modi’s global leadership, Adani acknowledged the historic addition of the Global South to the G20 group of nations during India’s presidency. He described this achievement as “unparalleled” in the face of geopolitical conflicts and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, themed “Gateway to Future,” is currently underway in Gujarat until January 12. The summit serves as a global platform for fostering business collaboration, sharing knowledge, and establishing strategic partnerships, all aimed at promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development.
