Sterlite Power

Sterlite Power, a leading player in the energy transmission sector, has secured a significant contract for a transmission project in Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), Phase IV, also known as the Bikaner complex. The company emerged as the successful bidder in a competitive tariff-based bidding process and is set to undertake the project based on the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model for a period of 35 years. This achievement marks Sterlite Power’s third green energy corridor (GEC) project within the state of Rajasthan.

The ambitious project comprises the establishment of a 6,000 MVA, 765/400 kV substation at Neemrana and the construction of two 400 kV transmission lines spanning approximately 250 km, connecting Neemrana to the existing Kotputli substation. Additionally, plans are underway to create another corridor linking the existing Gurgaon-Sohna line to both Gurgaon and Sohna substations. The primary goal of this venture is to enhance the transmission capacity, enabling the transportation of around 8,000 MW of renewable energy from Bikaner to various load centers in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Collectively, these three GEC projects entail the development of an extensive transmission corridor stretching approximately 950 km across the state of Rajasthan.
