Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) 2023 Summit Kicks Off in New Delhi Tomorrow

The eagerly anticipated GPAI 2023 Summit is set to commence in New Delhi, India, starting tomorrow. This prestigious event, organised by the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI), will gather delegates from 28 member countries and the European Union, including ministerial delegations from Canada, France, Japan, Turkiye, and the UK. More than 120 industry leaders and experts will also participate in this three-day summit.

GPAI, a multi-stakeholder initiative, was launched in June 2020 to bridge the gap between theory and practice in AI. With 29 member countries and two Centers of Expertise in Montreal and Paris, GPAI is dedicated to advancing responsible AI, data governance, the future of work, and innovation and commercialization.

India, a founding member of GPAI, is assuming the role of Lead Chair for 2023-24 and will host this year’s annual GPAI Summit. The summit will feature various flagship initiatives, including a Research Symposium on Responsible AI, the AI Game Changers Award, and the IndiaAI Expo showcasing AI innovations.

Moreover, the event will facilitate discussions on critical AI-related topics, such as healthcare, accessibility, skilling, governance, data, and global collaboration. It will also focus on fostering AI growth, addressing talent gaps, and ensuring equitable access to datasets and resources.

With the summit being held in hybrid mode, attendees can join physically in New Delhi or virtually through the dedicated platform. The event is expected to serve as a platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange on AI-related priorities.
