Green Field Township project

Ayodhya, a city already renowned for its spiritual significance, is now witnessing a significant stride in urban development with the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board’s (UPHDB) pioneering initiative – the Green Field Township (GFT). This expansive project, covering about 1407 acres in the villages of Manjha Shahanwajpur, Manhja Barhata, and Manjha Tihura, along with an additional 448 acres in the planning, is a response to the surging tourist influx following the opening of the Sri Ram Janm Bhumi Temple.

Progress in phases
The project is structured to progress in two distinct phases. The initial phase, covering 683 acres, is on track to be developed within the next three years, with 318 acres already secured. The remainder is anticipated to be in possession by the end of March. The second phase, which includes 754 acres, is in the acquisition stage, aiming for possession by May 2024. An additional area of 448 acres is also under acquisition, with a target possession date of December 2024.

Achievements in the initial stage
Significant strides have been made in the first phase of the project. The Government of India has provided environmental clearance for the entire scheme. The NH-27 segment within the township is being transformed into an ‘Elevated Corridor’ by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), supported by a Rs 270.07 crore funding from UPHDB. Additionally, the Ayodhya Bilhar Ghat Bund road is being upgraded to a four-lane roadway, improving connectivity to NH-27 (Near Naya Ghat) and Ambedkar Nagar NH. The transportation layout plan has been approved, and IIT Roorkee is actively involved in design and Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation. Plans for a reservoir and canal system are also in the pipeline, with design collaboration with the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee.

A leap towards world-class facilities
Tata Consulting Engineers are at the helm of detailed layout planning and the design of recreational spaces. The response to the release of Sector 8A, 9A, and 9B, featuring Hotel and Mutts plots, has been overwhelming, attracting both national and international interest. With 20 bids for 12 Hotel properties and 28 applications for Mutt plots, the project is showing promising prospects.

Consistent advancement with RERA and more
All properties in these sectors are now RERA registered, ensuring a steady pace of internal development. The project aims to complete all services within the next three years. UPHDB has approved an electrical substation, further boosting development activities in the township. With the release of the Design of Transportation Road Network by IIT ROORKEE, the construction of Roads is set to commence shortly.

Envisioning tomorrow
As the township prepares to introduce Hotel, Mutts, Residential, and other land-use plots in the upcoming sectors, the pace of development is expected to accelerate. These plots are scheduled for bidding and registration before March 2024. The Green Field Township Ayodhya symbolizes not just a development project, but a vision of progress and a bright future for the region.
