Manish Bhardwaj Appointed as Deputy Director General of UIDAI

In a significant reshuffle, Manish Bhardwaj, the Principal Secretary to the Government of Gujarat overseeing Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply, and the Kalpsar Department in Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, has been transferred. The Government of India has selected him for the role of Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This appointment falls under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.


Bhardwaj, an IAS officer from the 1997 batch of the Gujarat cadre, will take on his new responsibilities from the date he assumes charge. His tenure in this position is set for a period of five years, subject to any changes or until further notice.

Prior to this, he was Principal Secretary to the Government (Gujarat), Agriculture, Framers welfare and Co-operation department.
