Massive bureaucratic reshuffle in Punjab: 4 IAS, 16 PCS officers shifted

In a recent development, the Government of Punjab has issued an order for the transfers and postings of several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers in the state. These transfers have been made on administrative grounds and are effective immediately.

Among the notable transfers is Shri Paramvir Singh, an IAS officer of the 2015 batch, who has been transferred from the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Barnala to the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner in Khanna. He will be replacing Shri Amarjit, PCS.

Smt. Palavi, an IAS officer of the 2015 batch, has been transferred from the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Bathinda. She has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) in Bathinda, filling a vacant post.

Shri Gautam Jain, an IAS officer of the 2017 batch, who was serving as the Chief Administrator of the Patiala Development Authority in Patiala and also held the additional charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) in Patiala, has been transferred. He will now assume the role of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Ludhiana, replacing Shri Rahul Chaba, PCS.

Shri T. Benith, an IAS officer of the 2018 batch, has been transferred from the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Mansa. He will continue to serve as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Mansa and will also take up the additional responsibility of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Barnala. He will be replacing Smt. Lovjeet Kalsi, PCS.

Shri Gurpreet Singh Thind, PCS (2004), who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Patiala, has been transferred and posted as Chief Administrator of the Patiala Development Authority and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) in Patiala. This move comes as the services of Shri Gurpreet Singh Thind have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Shri Rahul Chaba, PCS (2004), who held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Ludhiana, has been transferred and appointed as the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Hoshiarpur, replacing Smt. Daljeet Kaur, PCS.

Shri Subash Chander, PCS (2004), who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Moga, has been transferred to Gurdaspur as the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), taking over from Smt. Nidhi Kumud Jamba, PCS.

Shri Dalwinderjit Singh, PCS (2004), who was holding the position of Additional Secretary in the Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board and also serving as the Administrator of New Mandi Township Punjab, has been retained in his current roles. Additionally, he has been appointed as the new Director of Colonization, replacing Shri Randeep Singh, PCS.

Smt. Daljeet Kaur, PCS (2004), the outgoing Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Hoshiarpur, has been transferred and posted as the new Additional Secretary of General Administration and Coordination, taking over from Shri Jagjit Singh, PCS.

Shri Jagjit Singh, PCS (2011), who was serving as the Joint Secretary of General Administration, has been transferred and appointed as the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Patiala, replacing Shri Gurpreet Singh Thind, PCS.

Smt. Anita Darshi, PCS (2011), who previously served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) in Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) in Moga. She has been relieved of the additional charge, which was previously held by Shri Chander, PCS.

Shri Rupinder Pal Singh, PCS (2011), who held the position of Additional Chief Administrator in Bathinda Development Authority, Bathinda, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) in Ludhiana. This move comes as a replacement for Smt. Anita Darshi.

Smt. Mandeep Kaur, PCS (2012), who served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Malerkotla, has been appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Bathinda, replacing Smt. Palavi, IAS.

Smt. Isha Singal, PCS (2012), who previously held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Patiala, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Roopnagar, replacing Smt. Harjot Kaur, PCS.

Smt. Nidhi Kumud Bamba, PCS (2012), who served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Gurdaspur, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Moga, replacing Shri Subash Chander, PCS.

Smt. Harjot Kaur, PCS (2012), who held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Roopnagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Fatehgarh Sahib, replacing Smt. Anuprita Johal, PCS.

Smt. Lovjeet Kalsi, PCS (2012), who served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Barnala, has been reassigned and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) in Bathinda. Additionally, she will serve as the Additional Chief Administrator in Bathinda Development Authority, Bathinda, taking over from Shri Rupinder Pal Singh.

Shri Amarjit, PCS (2012), who previously held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner in Khanna, has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He will be posted as the Additional Chief Administrator of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority, Ludhiana, replacing Shri Amarinder Singh Malhi, PCS.

Smt. Jyoti Bala, PCS (2012), who served as Commissioner of Municipal Corporation in Moga, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Faridkot, replacing Shri Rajpal Singh, PCS.

Shri Rajpal Singh, PCS (2012), who held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Faridkot, has been reassigned as the Secretary of Punjab State Commission for NRIs. Additionally, he will assume the role of Secretary in Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority, filling a vacant post and relieving Smt. Surinder Kaur, PCS of the additional charge.

These transfers and postings are expected to bring fresh perspectives and administrative expertise to the respective districts and contribute to the overall development of Punjab.
