Civil Services Day: 13 IAS officers received PM Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, presented the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration in honour of Civil Services Day 2023  at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Every year on April 21, Civil Services Day is observed to recognise the contribution of civil servants to society. The PM Award 2023 has been given to 13 bureaucrats in various categories.

Innovations Centre

For the National COVID- 19 Vaccination Programme, Rajesh Bhushan (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has received recognition.


PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan was given to Anurag Jain (IAS), Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Innovations State

Principal Secretary (PH & FW) & Commissioner (Health), Gujarat Shahmeena Husain (IAS) has been awarded for State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO).

Innovation District

Ravindra Kumar Mander (IAS), the District Magistrate of Rampur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, has received recognition for his “Sanvardhana” (local) project.

Sunny K. Singh (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Changlang District in Arunachal Pradesh, has received recognition for establishing the New Age Learning Centre (NALC).

Promoting Swachh Jal (Clean Jal) through Har Ghar Jal Yojana

Deputy Commissioner of Tamil Nadu’s Kancheepuram District Dr. M. Aarthi (IAS) and Bhavya Mittal (IAS), the District Magistrate of Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district, received awards for their work promoting Swachh Jal (Clean Jal) through the Har Ghar Jal Yojana.

Promoting quality education with an equitable and inclusive classroom environment through Samagra Shiksha

Abhishek Anand, district magistrate of Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh, and M. Nagarajan, deputy commissioner of Mahesana district in Gujarat, both hold IAS positions, have received awards for their work in promoting quality education and equitable and inclusive classroom environment through Samagra Shiksha.

Promoting Swasth Bharat (Healthy Bharat) through Health & Wellness Centres

Deputy Commissioner of Latur district in Maharashtra Prithviraj BP (IAS) and Deputy Commissioner of Anakapalli district in Andhra Pradesh Ravi Pattanshetti (IAS) have been awarded for promoting Swasth Bharat (Healthy Bharat) through Health & Wellness Centres.

Holistic Development through Aspirational District Program – overall progress with special focus on saturation approach

Dr. Syed Sehrish (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of the Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, and Sushant Gaurav (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of the Gumla district in Jharkhand, have each received awards for their work in promoting holistic development through aspirational district programmes.
