Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has stated that the roll-out of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) services through Common Service Center (CSC) and India Post will encourage local procurement and advance the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Mr. Goyal noted that GeM has facilitated over one crore orders and that more than 55% of these transactions come from micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs).

The minister stated that the GeM Portal’s enhancement is a continuous and dynamic process. New features and functionalities are currently being added.

He advocated continuing interaction with the merchants and buyers and invited them to provide the government with their experiences and suggestions for further developing the GeM portal.

He also urged sellers to set ambitious targets.

Mr. Goyal complimented all sellers and service providers on GeM for their unbound enthusiasm and participation on the portal.
