The Future Ready Bharat Digital Governance Summit delved deeply into best practices, challenges, and opportunities for accelerating governance innovations.

The summit witnessed the participation of top officials from the government sector, including VS Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary & Financial Commissioner, Department of Revenue & Disaster Management, Government of Haryana; Girish Dayalan, Special Secretary-cum-Director, Department of Governance Reforms, Director, MGSIPA, CEO-cum-Member Secretary, PSeGS Government of Punjab; Amit Talwar, Deputy Commissioner, Mohali, Government of Punjab; Kumar Saurabh Raj, Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice Government of Punjab; Ajoy Sharma, Principal Secretary Department of Health and Family Welfare, Excise and Taxation, Government of Punjab.

VS Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary & Financial Commissioner, Department of Revenue & Disaster Management, Government of Haryana graced the summit as the chief guest. He said, “Now, the government is evident that there is no other way than the digital way; the choices are which technology to use, as today, we have an ample amount of technologies and tools available for any given task.”
A special Address on next-gen technology to redesign citizen services at scale was given by
Ajoy Sharma, Principal Secretary Department of Health and Family Welfare, Excise and Taxation, Government of Punjab. He stated, “Technology is available but the challenge is to bring these technologies into the government. Industry and government must work together to meet this challenge.”
While giving an engaging presentation, Kumar Saurabh Raj, Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Government of Punjab said, “A variety of data is part of Big Data. The second thing is the volume of data. When computerisation started, only a few data were collected online. The majority of data was collected offline and manually entered into the government systems. Now the majority of the data is collected online and the biggest source of online data collection is your mobile”
The top leadership from government and industry deliberated on implementing cutting-edge technologies to redesign citizen services at scale.
Future Ready Bharat State Education Summit
The Future Ready Bharat State Education Summit discussed how a skill-based approach is critical to preparing the future workforce while highlighting the current outlook of technology-driven innovations in the education sector.
Kamal Kishor Yadav, Chief Executive Officer,Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, gave a special address highlighting the investment sector in Punjab. He said, “Lots of private institutions are coming and the best part is that quality private institutions are coming. And from the investing side of Punjab, we are offering lots of benefits to them. As a one-stop solution, we are providing all the facilities to all educational institutions, which are coming to the state of Punjab.”
Furthermore, with a stellar lineup of speakers, the summit explored strategies and innovations for bridging the digital divide with best-in-class education including Kiranjit Singh Tiwana, Secretary, Punjab School Education Board; Amandeep Kaur, Deputy State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan, Government of Punjab; Dr Maninder Singh Sarkaria, Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Government of Punjab; Dr. Ashwini Bhalla, Deputy Director, Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab and Darshan Singh Sindhu, Additional Director, Department of Technical Education Government of Punjab.
The event also featured a Microsoft solution showcase, highlighting modern immersive classrooms’ to take education to the next level.
