Expressways

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently laid the foundation stone of the country’s largest expressway network in the state. With this, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to have 13 Expressways. Of the total 13, six are operational while the rest are under construction. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 296-km long Bundelkhand Expressway on July 16, which will connect Bundelkhand to Delhi.

“The UP government has transformed the road network in the last five years. The double-engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the centre as well as in state has worked greatly for the people of UP. From streets to villages, from blocks to districts, a long network of roads has been laid out. Only 50% of expressways could be built in the last 70 years, but now we have doubled the pace. We have also laid the foundation stone of the 594-km long Ganga Expressway recently,” CM Yogi said.

The expressway will reduce the distance between East and the West and will be helpful for seamless people to people contacts. In addition to it, the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Ghazipur-Ballia-Manjhighat Expressway and the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are also under construction, which will immensely benefit the people of the region. Industrial corridors are being built on both sides of the expressways, which will give a fresh impetus to rapid and inclusive growth, said CM Yogi, adding that Airstrips are also being built for emergency landing and take-off of military aircrafts.

Bundelkhand will seize new growth opportunities

The Bundelkhand Expressway will benefit the people of Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah districts. Bundelkhand, which has remained backward for decades, is now going to connect directly with Delhi. The 9-km long DND flyway, 24-km Greater Noida Expressway, 165-km Yamuna Expressway, 135-km Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the 296-km Bundelkhand Expressway will lead to a total of 630-km of easy accessible roads from Delhi to Chitrakoot.
